Nixon Mateulah

Nixon Mateulah was born in Kawale 2 township in Lilongwe, Malawi. He moved to South Africa in 1996. His writings have appeared in Munyori, Jungle Jim Magazine, Storymoja, Aerodrome, Kalahari Review, Tuck Magazine, Stanzas Magazine, Too Powerful Word Magazine, Poetry Institute of Africa anthologies et cetera. Some of his poems appear under pseudonym Chichichapatile Mangochi.

Nixon has participated in the Fourth African Writers Trust’s Editorial and Publishing Training Workshop (2016) in Kampala, Uganda, facilitated by Jacob Ross. Again, in March 2020, he won a fellowship to attend Publishing Fellowship Programme in Entebbe, Uganda organised by the African Writers Trust. In 2020 he published a children’s book, Mada and his Two Friends, which was well received. He also publishes the e-book epic fantasy series, The Mystery Child book series 1–4.

He is currently pursuing his Master’s in Creative Writing at the University of the Western Cape.
