
Gaasi Setshedi graduated from the Tshwane University of Technology, Arts Campus with a bachelor’s degree in Drama, specialising in Physical Theatre and Scriptwriting. She is an actress, drama teacher and toured with various educational and children’s theatre companies. Her unpublished work includes two stage plays, Kedisaletse and Tribesmen, two children’s stories, Nolwazi and Gogo and John-John the councillor, and a notebook filled with prose, poetry and excerpts from play texts. In 2023, she published “Becoming Marubini” in Huisgenoot after taking part in the Jakes Gerwel short story mentorship programme. Her passion for education, development and theatre led her to create a literacy project that helps primary school learners with reading and comprehension.
