In honour of the great legacy of Prof Jakes Gerwel, we are pleased to share photos and a video recording of the Jakes Gerwel Commemoration, which took place at Youngblood Africa in Cape Town on 23 November 2023. Dr Imtiaz Sooliman (Gift of the Givers) delivered a moving virtual lecture about spirituality. Other highlights of the evening include musical performances by the SU Jazz Trio and Zolani Mahola, and the announcement of the recipient of the NYC Fellowship, Chase Rhys.
