The Chesham Short Story Prize

The Chesham Short Story Prize welcomes short stories in any genre, on any theme, written in English and up to 3 000 words. Open to writers anywhere in the world over, they’re looking for compelling, original work with a strong voice.
Prize:
- The winner of the Chesham Short Story Prize will win a £100 cash prize.
- Besides the cash prize on offer, the Chesham Short Story Prize is an incredible opportunity for writers to have their voices heard and to showcase the grass-roots talent among the community, as well as the broader talent from afar.
Entry fee: There is an entry fee of £10 per story, payable via PayPal.
Deadline: Submissions will open on 1 October and close on 31 December 2026. Winners will be announced in March 2027.
