RSG bied met trots die 29ste RSG-Radiodramaskryfkompetisie aan. Tydens die kompetisie kry skrywers die geleentheid om hul hand te waag aan ’n radiodrama. Die kompetisie is uniek omdat dit aan skrywers gratis hulpbronne verskaf. RSG is ook opgewonde dat daar weer in 2025 in samewerking met die ATKV gratis slypskole in Johannesburg en Kaapstad aangebied word. Deelnemers sal ook die opname van ’n kort radiodrama kan bywoon en kenners sal die fynere kunsies van ’n radiodrama skryf, deel.

Anthology Short Story Competition

Established to recognise and encourage creative writing and provide a platform for publication, the Anthology Short Story Competition is open to original and previously unpublished short stories in the English language by a writer of any nationality, living anywhere in the world. There is no restriction on theme or style.

Winchester Poetry Prize 2025

Submission deadline: 31 July 2025

 

The competition is open to writers 16 years and above. Poems can be on any subject, and in any form or style, but must be written in English and no more than 40 lines. Poems must not have been published or accepted for publication elsewhere (including online and social media).

Fiction Factory Poetry Competition

Submission deadline: 31 July 2025

 

Fiction Factory welcomes submissions to its fifth poetry competition, to be judged by novelist and poet: Helen Cox. Five shortlisted poets will receive a supportive critique on their poems. One winner from that shortlist will receive a £100 cash prize, as well as feedback on five poems they have written. They will also benefit from an hour-long mentorship Zoom call with the judge to talk about their poetry.

Aurora Prize for Writing 2025

The Aurora Prize is a national writing competition, seeking outstanding new writing in short fiction and poetry. This year, Writing East Midlands is accepting short stories of up to 2 000 words per entry and poetry of up to 60 lines per entry; in any genre, on any subject. This is a national writing competition open to writers aged 18 and above. International entries are also welcome.

Flash Fiction Competition

This quarterly open-themed competition has closing dates of 31st March, 30th June, 30th September and 31st December 2025. The results will be announced about six weeks after each closing date and the three winning entries each quarter will be published on this website.

The Writers’ College: Short Story Competition

Submission deadline: 30 September 2025

 

The Writers' College Short Story Competition is open to unpublished writers or those with fewer than four publications, from any country. Stories must be written in English and not exceed 2000 words. Theme for 2025: All the things we didn’t learn.

NB-Uitgewers se drukname Human & Rousseau en Tafelberg kondig met trots aan dat inskrywings nou oop is vir die Jeugboekkompetisie in 2025! Skryf ’n jeugboek of kinderboek en staan ’n kans om R50 000 te wen!

LAPA-Jeugromankompetisie 2025

LAPA nooi graag alle skrywers en voornemende skrywers uit om al daai wonderlike stories wat die wêreld vol lê, op te raap, neer te skryf en met hulle en hul lesers te deel.

Nagtegaal-teksprys 2026

Sluitingsdatum: 5 Desember 2025

 

Inskrywings vir die gesogte Nagtegaal-teksprys vir 2026 word nou ingewag. Dit is die grootste kompetisie van sy soort in Suid-Afrika en word in samewerking met die Toyota Stellenbosch Woordfees aangebied. Die wenner ontvang R100 000, mentorskap en ondersteuning met finale afronding van die teks, asook die moontlikheid van ’n speelvak by die 2026- of 2027 Toyota Stellenbosch Woordfees. Die twee naaswenners ontvang onderskeidelik R50 000 en R25 000.
