New Voices staged readings
Don’t miss the New Voices staged readings at Artscape Arena this month – the programme contains a series of free reading performances where new South African plays come to life for the first time. Writers, theatre lovers and industry professionals are warmly invited to attend and share valuable feedback with the writers after each reading.
Programme of staged readings:
- 4 Nov: ‘Africa 2051’ by Andza Magagula
- 6 Nov: ‘Begrafniskos’ by Rita Swanepoel
- 8 Nov: ‘Isilingo’ by Adadume Ngxanki
- 11 Nov: ‘Uncomfortable Truths’ by Baydu Adams
- 13 Nov: ‘The Untold’ by Nosiphiwo Ndabeni
- 14 Nov: ‘Die droomkraan’ by Elton Louw

Free entry – first come, first served!
Mikyall Harris‘ play Vannie Wal Af will also be showcased from the 19th to the 22nd of November 2025. Tickets are R100 and are available on Webtickets. Mikyall Harris was a participant in the NATi Rising Stars programme in 2024. His play, Vannie Wal Af was part of the staged reading programme last year.
