Dit is om hierdie rede dat die Stigting \u2019n trotse vennoot is van hierdie fees wat soomloosheid in die gemeenskap in alle opsigte nastreef. Die Jakes Gerwel Stigting bied jaarliks tydens die fees \u2019n reeks boekgesprekke aan en lesers kan hul gunstelingskrywers ontmoet en met hulle gesels. Die 2021 Suidoosterfees het vanaf 26 April tot 2 Mei in Kaapstad plaasgevind.
