In 2020 voltooi Kanya haar Meestersgraad aan die Universiteit van Kaapstad as deel van Andrew W Mellon se Reimagining Tragedy from Africa and the Global South-projek.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kanya werk as akademikus, skrywer en kunstenaar. Haar onlangse teaterprojekte sluit in <em>Die skrif is aan die muur<\/em> (2018\u20132020), <em>Jessie, die man en die maan<\/em> (2019\u20132023) en <em>Droomwerk<\/em> (2023). Haar films <em>ekstasis<\/em>(2020), <em>A Moment of Dying<\/em> (2021) en <em>\u2019n Doop om stilte<\/em> (2023) het beide nasionale en internasionale pryse verower.
