African Writing Residency

Illino Media is hosting a three-month paid online residence program for University students and recent graduates who live and write in Africa
It is their mission to preserve and amplify African stories, and they believe there’s no better way to achieve this than by nurturing the talent of those who live and breathe these experiences. They’re seeking up to three exceptional African writers for this unique opportunity.
Key Program Details:
- Duration: The official residency program will start on August 1st and will continue until September 25th, 2024
- Participants: Up to 3 selected African writers
- Target Audience: University students and recent graduates
Benefits for Selected Writers:
- Personalized mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals
- Publication on the Illino Media website
- Competitive monthly stipend of $600 (USD)
- Support towards future writing goals (e.g., fellowship applications, manuscript submissions, writing competitions)
